Target Information
PHF17 (Jade1) is a scaffold subunit of some HBO1 complexes possessing histone H4 acetyltransferase activity. It plays a key role in directing KAT7/HBO1 specificity toward histone H4 acetylation (H4K5ac, H4K8ac, H4K12ac), regulating DNA replication initiation. It may also promote acetylation of nucleosomal histone H4 by KAT5 and promote apoptosis. PHF17 may act as a renal tumor suppressor and negatively regulate canonical Wnt signaling, cooperating with NPHP4 in this function. [UniProt]
