Target Information
UPF3B는 mRNA의 핵 내 수출 및 감시 과정에 관여하는 스플라이싱 후 다단백질 복합체의 구성요소입니다. 이 단백질은 효모 Upf3p의 두 기능적 상동체 중 하나로, mRNA에 결합하여 핵 수출 후에도 유지되며 핵-세포질 셔틀 단백질로 작용합니다. 또한 Y14와 복합체를 형성하여 엑손-엑손 접합부 상류 20 nt 부위에 특이적으로 결합합니다.
이 유전자는 X 염색체 장완에 위치하며, 서로 다른 아이소폼을 암호화하는 두 가지 스플라이스 변이체가 존재합니다.
mRNA 감시 기작은 조기 종결 코돈을 포함한 잘못된 mRNA를 인식하여 nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD)를 유도합니다.
