Product Specific Information
Mouse anti-pig SLA Class I antibody, clone JM1E3, recognizes a monomorphic epitope expressed by porcine MHC Class I molecules (SLA-1).
SLA-1 is expressed by all nucleated porcine cells, but not on erythrocytes.
This antibody cross-reacts with human MHC Class I, including HLA-E.
The MHC (major histocompatibility complex) is a cluster of genes important in immune response to infections.
In pigs, this region is referred to as the swine leukocyte antigen (SLA) region.
JM1E3 has been reported to block the interaction of MHC Class I antigens with inhibitory NK cell receptors.

Swine leukocyte antigen (SLA) class I molecules play a crucial role in generating specific cellular immune responses against viruses and other intracellular pathogens.
They mainly bind and present antigens of intracellular origin to circulating MHC I-restricted cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs).
