Target Information
Neuroglycan C is a transmembrane chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan exclusively expressed in the central nervous system. Its expression is developmentally regulated and influenced by psychostimulant addiction and nerve lesions. The core protein has a unique multidomain structure and undergoes various post-translational modifications such as phosphorylation and glycosylation. Neuroglycan C transitions between proteoglycan and non-proteoglycan forms during cerebellum and retina development and is implicated in neuronal circuit formation in the CNS.
