Target Information
ORAI3 is a protein-coding gene involved in calcium signaling and regulation of calcium homeostasis. It belongs to the ORAI family of proteins forming calcium release-activated calcium (CRAC) channels in the plasma membrane. These channels are activated by depletion of calcium from the endoplasmic reticulum, causing calcium influx into the cytoplasm.
ORAI3 is associated with physiological processes such as T-cell activation, muscle contraction, and neurotransmitter release. Dysregulation of ORAI3 expression or function is linked to immune disorders, cancer, and cardiovascular disease.
