Target Information
IKK gamma (IKBKG) is the regulatory subunit of the inhibitor of the kappaB kinase (IKK) complex, which activates NF-kappaB leading to gene expression involved in inflammation, immunity, and cell survival.
Mutations in this gene are associated with incontinentia pigmenti, hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia, and various immunodeficiencies. Multiple transcript variants exist, and a pseudogene is located nearby on the X chromosome.
