Target Information
Voltage-gated potassium channels are a large and diverse class of ion channels found in excitable and nonexcitable cells. They regulate resting membrane potential and control the shape and frequency of action potentials.
The KCNS1 protein is electrically silent by itself but can form heteromultimers with members of the Shab-related subfamily of potassium voltage-gated channel proteins. KCNS1 belongs to the S subfamily of the potassium channel family.
