Target Information

Histone H3 is a DNA-binding protein found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Together with other core histones, it binds DNA to form nucleosomes, the fundamental units of chromatin structure. Histone H3 plays a crucial role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability.
Post-translational modifications such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation of its N-terminal tail regulate chromatin structure and gene expression.
