Thrombin은 혈액 응고 과정의 최종 프로테아제로, 여러 기질을 절단하여 응고 및 항응고 기능을 모두 수행합니다. Thrombin은 활성 부위 외부에서 다양한 기질 및 보조인자와 상호작용하며, 두 개의 음이온 결합 부위(exosite I, II)를 통해 이러한 결합을 매개합니다. 특히 exosite II에 대한 glycosaminoglycan 결합은 thrombin의 항응고 기능 조절에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
