Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
USP5 (ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 5) cleaves linear and branched multiubiquitin polymers, showing a preference for branched forms.
It participates in disassembly of unanchored Lys-48-linked polyubiquitin and binds linear and Lys-63-linked polyubiquitin with lower affinity.
Knock-down of USP5 leads to accumulation of p53/TP53 and increased transcriptional activity, as unanchored polyubiquitin competes with ubiquitinated p53/TP53 for proteasomal recognition.
