For reconstitution, we recommend adding 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
To use this carrier-free antibody for conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

AFP (Alpha Fetoprotein) is a major plasma protein produced by the yolk sac, intestinal tract, and liver during fetal life. In adults, AFP expression is often associated with hepatoma or teratoma. Hereditary persistence of AFP may occur without pathology. AFP is considered the fetal counterpart of serum albumin, with both genes located tandemly on chromosome 4.
AFP exists in monomeric, dimeric, and trimeric forms and can bind copper, nickel, fatty acids, and bilirubin. AFP levels in amniotic fluid are used to screen for spina bifida and anencephaly. Elevated serum AFP is observed in hepatocellular carcinoma, teratoblastoma, colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, and germ cell neoplasms.
