Target Information

Following the discovery of protein modification by ubiquitin, several ubiquitin-like proteins (Ubls) such as SUMO, ISG15, Nedd8, and Atg8 have been identified as protein modifiers. These Ubls regulate key cellular processes including transcription, DNA repair, signal transduction, autophagy, and cell-cycle control. Dysregulation of Ubl modification and mutations in Ubl-conjugation machinery are implicated in various human diseases.
URM1 is a ubiquitin-like modifier protein.
