Product Specific Information

Reconstitution: Add 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL of double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week. For longer storage, aliquot and keep at -20°C.
Avoid multiple freezing and thawing. Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

MC1R (Melanocortin Receptor 1) mediates the effects of melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH) and adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH).
MSH and MC1R regulate melanogenesis, controlling the balance between red pheomelanin and black eumelanin in the skin.
Non-functional receptors lead to lighter pigmentation, while constitutively active receptors result in darker color.
