Target Information

Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene located on chromosome 11 in humans.
Also known as RelA (v-rel avian reticuloendotheliosis viral oncogene homolog A), it belongs to the Rel family of proteins and forms one of the two subunits of NF-kB, which heterodimerizes with p50 or p52.
Upon TNF-alpha binding to its receptor, IKK is phosphorylated, which phosphorylates IκB, leading to its proteasomal degradation. NF-kB p65 plays a key role in transcription of the immunoglobulin kappa gene in mature B-lymphoid cells.
