Target Information
Xeroderma pigmentosum type G (XPG)은 자외선에 대한 극도의 민감성을 보이는 인간 유전 질환으로, XPG 단백질은 FEN-1 구조 특이적 DNA 복구 엔도뉴클레아제 계열에 속하는 효소입니다.
이 효소는 자외선(UV)으로 유도된 DNA 손상을 복구하는 데 필수적이며, 뉴클레오타이드 절제 복구 과정에서 3' 절단을 수행합니다. 또한 DNA 버블 구조를 절단하여 복구를 개시하며, XPG의 981–1009 아미노산 영역은 PCNA 결합 활성을 포함합니다.
특히 Arg992 잔기는 PCNA 결합에 중요한 역할을 하며, XPG는 XPA 및 RPA와 직접 결합하여 손상 인식 및 복구 과정에 관여합니다.
