Product Specific Information
- Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration.
- For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below.
- Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing.
- Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
- Product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid; dilute only prior to immediate use.
Immunoelectrophoresis results: Single precipitin arc against anti-rabbit serum, purified and partially purified Carboxypeptidase B (Porcine Pancreas).
Cross-reactivity with Carboxypeptidase B from other tissues and species may occur but has not been specifically determined.
Target Information
Three different procarboxypeptidases A and two different procarboxypeptidases B have been isolated.
The B1 and B2 forms differ mainly in isoelectric point.
Carboxypeptidase B1 is a highly tissue-specific protein and serves as a useful serum marker for acute pancreatitis and pancreatic transplant dysfunction.
It is not elevated in pancreatic carcinoma.
