The PA1-7495 antibody reacts with Herpes Simplex Virus type 1 (HSV-1).
It has been successfully used in ELISA applications.
This antibody was raised against HSV Strain F ICP + virion antigens.
Target Information
Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) is a member of the Herpesviridae family, including HSV-1 and HSV-2, also known as Human Herpes Virus 1 and 2 (HHV-1 and HHV-2).
HSV-1 typically causes oral lesions such as cold sores, while HSV-2 is responsible for most genital herpes cases.
Transmission occurs through viral shedding from infected individuals.
The virion consists of a double-stranded linear DNA genome within a capsid and enveloped structure.
HSV strains contain over 70 open reading frames (ORFs) and have been associated with neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease.
