Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This antibody is specific for mouse MIP-1α protein. Cross-reactivity with MIP-1α from other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

MIP-1α and MIP-1β are structurally and functionally related CC chemokines involved in host immune responses against bacterial, viral, parasitic, and fungal pathogens. They regulate the trafficking and activation of inflammatory cells such as macrophages, lymphocytes, and NK cells.
While both exert similar effects on monocytes, MIP-1α selectively attracts CD8⁺ lymphocytes, and MIP-1β selectively attracts CD4⁺ lymphocytes. Both are also potent chemoattractants for B cells, eosinophils, and dendritic cells. Human and murine MIP-1α/β are active on both human and murine hematopoietic cells.
