- Immunogenic sequence conserved among human, mouse, and rat in Akt1, Akt2, and Akt3 isoforms.
- Recommended positive controls: NIH-3T3 cells stimulated with PDGF, and 3T3-L1 adipocytes stimulated with OSM and IFN-gamma.
- Other species (100% homologous) not tested.
Target Information
AKT1 (PKB alpha) is a serine/threonine kinase that regulates cell survival by inhibiting apoptosis and promoting cell cycle progression.
Activated by insulin, PI3K, IGF1, and other growth factors, Akt phosphorylates various targets, including forkhead transcription factors and caspase-9.
The AKT pathway is a major focus in cancer drug discovery due to its role in cell survival and proliferation.
