Target Information

Histone H3 is a DNA-binding protein found in chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Together with other core histones, it forms the nucleosome structure. Histones play key roles in transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability.
Post-translational modifications of histone H3, such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation, influence chromatin structure and gene expression by altering accessibility or recruiting transcription factors. The N-terminal tail of histone H3 is particularly subject to such modifications.
