Product Specific Information
This antibody detects a 50 kDa band corresponding to VASP in Western blots of human A431 and HeLa cells, as well as mouse C2C12 cells treated with calyculin A.
Target Information
Vasodilator-stimulated phosphoprotein (VASP) is a member of the Ena-VASP protein family. These proteins contain an EHV1 N-terminal domain that binds proteins with E/DFPPPPXD/E motifs and targets Ena-VASP proteins to focal adhesions. The mid-region has a proline-rich domain that interacts with SH3 and WW domain-containing proteins. The C-terminal EVH2 domain mediates tetramerization and binds both G and F actin. VASP is associated with filamentous actin formation and plays roles in cell adhesion and motility. It may also participate in intracellular signaling pathways regulating integrin-extracellular matrix interactions. VASP is regulated by cyclic nucleotide-dependent kinases PKA and PKG.
