Product Specific Information
MA5-14773 targets CD14 in indirect ELISA, FACS, and IHC applications and shows reactivity with human samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human CD14 expressed in E. coli.
Target Information
CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein expressed on mature monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils.
It functions as a multifunctional lipopolysaccharide receptor and exists in both membrane-bound and soluble forms.
CD14 binds lipopolysaccharides in a reaction catalyzed by lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP), aiding in immune recognition and response.
Soluble CD14 (sCD14) helps neutralize serum lipopolysaccharides and can bind apoptotic cells, influencing allergic, inflammatory, and infectious processes.
Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants encoding the same CD14 isoform.
CD14 dysfunction is associated with conditions such as Mycobacterium chelonae infection and croup.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
