LDL 관련 단백질인 LRP5와 LRP6은 LDL 수용체 초가족에 속하며, canonical Wnt 신호전달 경로에 관여합니다. LRP6은 Wnt1과 결합하여 Wnt 유도 발달 과정을 촉진하며, LRP6 결핍 마우스는 다양한 Wnt 단백질 결핍과 유사한 발달 결함을 보입니다. 또한 Wnt 단백질은 LRP5와 Axin의 결합을 유도하여 Axin 분해 및 β-catenin 안정화를 촉진합니다.
