- PA1-24756 is expected to cross-react with mouse (100% conserved), rat (100% conserved), and bovine (100% conserved) due to sequence homology.

Target Information
The protein encoded by the p35 gene is a neuron-specific activator of cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (CDK5). Activation of CDK5 is essential for proper development of the central nervous system. The p35 protein can be proteolytically cleaved by calpain to generate p25, which relocates from the cell periphery to nuclear and perinuclear regions. This cleavage deregulates CDK5 activity, prolonging activation and altering localization. The p25 form accumulates in brain neurons of Alzheimer’s disease patients, correlating with increased CDK5 kinase activity and aberrant phosphorylation of tau, contributing to disease pathology.
