Product Specific Information

Description:
The HIR2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human glycophorin A, a sialoglycoprotein expressed by erythroid precursors and mature circulating red cells.

Each product contains 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate and 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer.

Applications Reported:
This HIR2 (also GA-R2) antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells.
Recommended use: 5 µL (0.015 µg) per test in a final volume of 100 µL.
Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Important Notes:

• NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
• Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for viability analysis with NovaFluor dyes.
• Product ships with CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01), which improves staining performance.
• Add 5 µL of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer per sample (for both single-color and multiplex panels).

CD235a (Glycophorin A, GPA)

• Single-pass membrane sialoglycoprotein expressed in mature erythrocytes and erythroid precursor cells.
• Carrier of blood group M and N specificities.
• Provides a mucin-like barrier reducing red blood cell aggregation.
• Acts as a receptor for Sandei virus, parvovirus, and Streptococcus adhesin Hsa.
