Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Gamma-glutamylcysteine synthetase (gamma-GCS) is the rate-limiting enzyme for glutathione (L-gamma-glutamyl-L-cysteinylglycine, GSH) synthesis. GSH acts as a vital intra- and extracellular antioxidant in mammalian cells. Gamma-GCS is a heterodimer composed of a heavy catalytic subunit and a light regulatory subunit, responsive to inflammation, phenolic antioxidants, heat shock, oxidants, and cytokines.
