Target Information
Poly ADP-Ribose Polymerase (PARP) uses NAD (oxidized form) as a substrate to catalyze the transfer of ADP-ribose to various nuclear protein acceptors. Cleavage of PARP into its stable 85 kDa fragment is an early marker of apoptosis, mediated by caspase CPP32. The cleavage occurs between Asp216 and Gly217, a conserved site across species.
