Product Specific Information
The eBio18F10 antibody reacts with mouse IL-17F, a 37 kD homodimer of the IL-17 family and a Th17 signature marker. IL-17F and IL-17A share strong homology (50% amino acid identity) and are co-regulated during Th17 differentiation. Expression of IL-17F and IL-17A occurs in activated human CD4+ T cells and is associated with inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease, and asthma.
IL-17F induces expression of IL-6, IL-8, GROα, ENA-78, TGFβ, MCP-1, G-CSF, GM-CSF, and ICAM-1 in various cell types. It forms biologically active IL-17F/IL-17A heterodimers alongside homodimers, with differential potency in cytokine induction.
Applications Reported: Intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested on restimulated Th17-polarized mouse splenocytes; ≤0.125 µg/test recommended.
Use 488 nm excitation and 710 nm emission filters (685 LP dichroic mirror and 710/40 band pass filter recommended).
Stability: PerCP-eFluor® 710 conjugates remain stable after fixation in 2% formaldehyde overnight at 4°C.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
IL-17F (Interleukin 17F, CTLA-8) is a cytokine produced by activated T cells, mast cells, and basophils. It plays a key role in allergic airway inflammation and induces cytokines and adhesion molecules in multiple cell types. IL-17F acts via IL-17R, promoting monocyte and neutrophil recruitment. It is involved in chronic inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis. IL-17F functions as a homodimer or heterodimer with IL-17A and is highly expressed in activated effector memory T cells.
