Target Information
이 유전자는 serpin(superfamily of serine proteinase inhibitors) 계열 단백질을 암호화합니다. Neuroserpin 단백질은 주로 뇌의 축삭에서 분비되며, 조직형 플라스미노겐 활성화효소(tPA)를 선택적으로 억제합니다. 이는 축삭 성장 조절 및 시냅스 가소성 발달에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
이 유전자의 돌연변이는 Neuroserpin inclusion body를 동반한 가족성 뇌병증(FENIB)을 유발하며, 이는 신경세포 내 mutant neuroserpin 중합체의 축적으로 특징지어집니다. 여러 대체 스플라이싱 변이가 보고되었으며, 모두 동일한 단백질을 암호화합니다.
