Target Information
NDRG1 is a 394 amino acid cytoplasmic protein belonging to the NDRG family. It interacts with APO A-I and A-II and plays roles in HDL-mediated cholesterol transport, stress and hormone responses, and cell growth and differentiation. Defects in NDRG1 cause Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 4D (CMT4D), characterized by reduced nerve conduction velocities, segmental demyelination and remyelination, and progressive distal muscle weakness. NDRG1 serves as a marker of differentiation and is expressed in placental membranes, prostate, kidney, small intestine, ovary, and colon tissues.
