Target Information
Immunoglobulin classes share a common structure of two heavy and two light chains (kappa or lambda, ~22.5 kDa).
Kappa and lambda chains differ in their constant region antigenicity, with a typical ratio of 70:30.
Antibodies to the kappa light chain are useful for identifying leukemias, plasmacytomas, and certain non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas.
Demonstration of clonality in lymphoid infiltrates indicates malignancy.
