Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of CDC25A only when phosphorylated at Serine 76.
Target Information
CDC25A is a member of the CDC25 family of phosphatases. Three CDC25 genes (CDC25A, CDC25B, CDC25C) are present in human cells, functioning at different phases of the cell cycle.
CDC25A is required for progression through G1 and S phases, activating the cyclin-dependent kinase CDC2 by removing two phosphate groups.
CDC25A is degraded in response to DNA damage to prevent abnormal cell division. It is considered an oncogene, though its exact role in oncogenesis remains unclear.
