This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Target Information

The cystatin superfamily comprises cysteine protease inhibitors:

• Type 1 (intracellular): Cystatins A and B
• Type 2 (extracellular): Cystatins C, D, E/M, F, G, S, SN, SA
• Type 3 (intravascular): Kininogens

All true cystatins inhibit cysteine peptidases of the papain family (e.g., cathepsins) and some inhibit legumain family enzymes.
Cystatin SA, S, and SN are primarily found in saliva; S and SN are also expressed in tears, urine, and seminal fluid.
Cystatin C is expressed in brain, thymus, ovary, epididymis, and vas deferens.
Cystatin D protects against oral cavity proteinases, while Cystatin E/M and F regulate cathepsin inhibition.
Fetuins, also part of this family, influence osteogenesis, insulin and hepatocyte growth factor receptor regulation, and systemic inflammation responses.
High and low molecular weight kininogens inhibit thrombin- and plasmin-induced thrombocyte aggregation.
