Product Specific Information

• Description: Monoclonal rat IgG1, kappa is useful as an isotype control immunoglobulin.
• Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.
• Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes and normal human peripheral blood cells. Use at the same concentration as experimental antibody.
• Fluorochrome Information: Alexa Fluor® 700 emits at 723 nm and is excited with the red laser (633 nm). Most instruments require a 685 LP mirror and 710/20 filter.
• Optical Properties: Excitation 633–647 nm; Emission 723 nm; Laser: Red Laser.
• Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

Rat IgG1 is a subclass of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies commonly used in research and diagnostics. These antibodies are produced by rats in response to antigens and can be purified from serum or hybridoma supernatants. Rat IgG1 is often used as a negative control in experiments, as it does not bind to many mammalian antigens. It is applicable in immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and western blotting for antigen detection. Gene targeting in rats enables generation of disease models to study gene function and pathogenesis.
