MA3-929 detects sodium/potassium ATPase alpha 1 in sheep, canine, rat, mouse, human, and porcine tissues.
This antibody does not detect the alpha 1 isoform in Xenopus and chicken, nor the alpha 2 or alpha 3 isoform in rat.
It has been successfully used in Western blot, immunofluorescence, immunocytochemistry, flow cytometry, and immunohistochemistry procedures.
By Western blot, this antibody detects an ~110 kDa protein representing alpha 1 sodium/potassium ATPase from canine kidney extract.
Immunohistochemical staining yields a pattern consistent with plasma membrane localization.
The antigen is sheep kidney alpha 1 sodium/potassium ATPase, recognizing an epitope between amino acid residues 496–506 of lamb kidney sodium/potassium ATPase.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the family of P-type cation transport ATPases and to the subfamily of Na+/K+-ATPases.
Na+/K+-ATPase is an integral membrane protein responsible for establishing and maintaining the electrochemical gradients of Na and K ions across the plasma membrane.
These gradients are essential for osmoregulation, sodium-coupled transport of various molecules, and electrical excitability of nerve and muscle cells.
The enzyme consists of two subunits: a large catalytic subunit (alpha) and a smaller glycoprotein subunit (beta).
This gene encodes the alpha 1 subunit, with multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms identified.
