Product Specific Information

MA3928A555 detects sodium/potassium ATPase alpha from human, mouse, bovine, sheep, canine, chicken, and porcine tissues.
This antibody detects the alpha 3 isoform in rat only.
The antigen is purified sheep kidney alpha sodium/potassium ATPase and recognizes an epitope between amino acid residues 646–652.


Target Information

The ATP1A1 gene encodes a catalytic alpha subunit of Na⁺/K⁺-ATPase, a P-type cation transport enzyme responsible for maintaining sodium and potassium gradients across the plasma membrane.
These gradients are essential for osmoregulation, sodium-coupled transport, and electrical excitability of nerve and muscle cells.
The enzyme consists of a large catalytic (alpha) subunit and a smaller glycoprotein (beta) subunit.
Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
