Target Information
Apoptosis protease-activating factor 1 (Apaf 1)는 세포사멸 경로의 핵심 단백질로, cytochrome c (Apaf 2) 및 Caspase-9 (Apaf 3)과 결합하여 Caspase-9을 활성화시킵니다. 활성화된 Caspase-9은 Caspase-3을 절단 및 활성화하여 세포사멸에 관여합니다.
최근 연구에 따르면 Apaf 1과 상호작용하는 단백질로 APIP (Apaf 1 Interacting Protein, CG129, MMRP19)가 확인되었으며, 이는 허혈 손상의 음성 조절자로 작용합니다. APIP는 Apaf 1의 Caspase-9 결합 부위와 경쟁하며, 204 아미노산으로 구성된 단백질을 암호화합니다.
또한, APIP의 이소폼인 APIP2는 242 아미노산을 암호화하며 N-말단에서 다른 스플라이싱 변이를 가집니다. APIP 전사는 대부분의 성인 조직에서 발현되며, 특히 골격근, 심장, 신장에서 높은 발현을 보입니다.
