For IHC(P), use heat-induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen.

Target Information

Glutamate is the main excitatory neurotransmitter in the brain. It acts on ligand-gated receptor channels such as NMDA, AMPA, and kainate receptors that mediate fast excitatory synaptic transmission.
Recently, glutamate has also been shown to regulate enzymes producing second messengers via G-protein-coupled receptors, known as metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGluRs).

• Group I receptors (mGluR1a, mGluR5): stimulate phospholipase C and increase phosphoinositide turnover and calcium release.
• Group II and III receptors (mGluR2, mGluR3): inhibit adenylyl cyclase activity.
