Each lot contains a defined mixture of light and heavy chains, ensuring reproducibility and eliminating biological variability.

Target Information

Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) is a key enzyme in the glycolytic pathway that catalyzes the conversion of pyruvate to lactate, coupled with NADH/NAD⁺ interconversion. In mammals, LDH is encoded by three genes:

  • LDHA (M or muscle form)
  • LDHB (H or heart form)
  • LDHC (X or testis form)

The three human LDHs share 84–89% sequence similarity and 69–75% amino acid identity. There are five LDH isoenzymes based on the ratio of M and H chains in the tetrameric structure. LDHA expression is hypoxia-inducible and regulated by HIF1α activity. LDHB is often upregulated in cancers.
Mutations in the LDHA gene can lead to Glycogen Storage Disease 11 (GSD11).
