Target Information

Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily A member 4 (Kv1.4, PCN2) is encoded by the KCNA4 gene in humans.
This gene is part of the voltage-gated potassium channel, shaker-related subfamily, mapped to chromosome 11p14.1.
KCNA4 contributes to the A-type potassium current, which regulates the fast repolarizing phase of cardiac action potentials and influences cardiac duration.
It also contributes to the transient outward potassium current (Ito1), a key current in the repolarizing phase 1 of the cardiac action potential.
Interactions have been reported with DLG4, KCNA2, and DLG1.
