Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Kinesins are microtubule-dependent motor proteins responsible for the distribution of organelles, vesicles, and macromolecular complexes throughout the cell. KIF1B, a member of the KIF1/Unc104 family, is involved in the transport of mitochondria or synaptic vesicles in axons. It is an amino-terminal-type motor protein, highly expressed in differentiated nerve cells. The human KIF1B gene maps to chromosome 1p36.2. Mutations in this gene can lead to peripheral neuropathy phenotypes. The mouse KIF1B gene produces two isoforms through alternative splicing.
