Product Specific Information
The RMP1-30 antibody reacts with mouse PD-1 (programmed death-1), a 55 kDa member of the Ig superfamily. PD-1 contains the immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motif (ITIM) and plays a key role in peripheral tolerance and autoimmune disease in mice. PD-1 is expressed mainly on activated T and B lymphocytes.
Two B7 Family members, PD-L1 (B7-H1) and PD-L2 (B7-DC), serve as PD-1 ligands with overlapping functions. RMP1-30 does not block binding of either ligand to PD-1 transfectants.

Fluorochrome Information:
Super Bright 436 is excited by a violet laser (405 nm) and emits at 436 nm. Recommended filter: 450/50 bandpass or equivalent.
Use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) when combining multiple Super Bright dyes to minimize non-specific interactions.

Target Information
T lymphocytes initiate cell-mediated immune responses when stimulated by peptides bound to MHC molecules on antigen-presenting cells (APCs). Activated T cells express PD-1 (PDCD-1), which transmits inhibitory signals upon binding to ligands PD-L1 or PD-L2.
PD-1 signaling suppresses immune activation in absence of danger signals such as LPS. PD-1-deficient mice exhibit hyperactivated immune systems and autoimmune disorders.
Despite predicted molecular weight, PD-1 often migrates at a higher molecular weight in SDS-PAGE.
