Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter genes regulate dietary cholesterol retention in the body. The ABC transporter ABCG1 (ABC8) is expressed on the cell surface and in intracellular compartments of cholesterol-laden macrophages. Its expression is induced in monocyte-derived macrophages during cholesterol influx mediated by acetylated low-density lipoprotein (LDL). Conversely, lipid efflux mediated by HDL(3) suppresses ABCG1 expression in cholesterol-laden macrophages.
