Product Specific Information
The 2C9.G3 (HMb3-1) monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse and rat CD61 (integrin beta3). CD61 is expressed by activated T cells, granulocytes, and platelets. It associates with integrin alphaV (CD51) to form Vitronectin Receptor and with alphaIIb (CD41) to form gpIIb/IIIa, enabling adhesion to extracellular matrix components such as fibrinogen, fibronectin, vitronectin, thrombospondin, and von Willebrand factor.
Each product includes:
- 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
- 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Mouse splenocytes and bone marrow cells (≤0.05 µg/test, 100 µL final volume). Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Titrate for optimal performance.
Compatibility Note:
NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI). Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains with NovaFluor dyes.
CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer Usage:
Use 5 µL per sample (regardless of NovaFluor count). For single-color controls, add 5 µL per 100 µL of cell sample containing 10³–10⁸ cells.
Technology:
NovaFluor conjugates are based on Phiton™ technology using nucleic acid dye structures for optimized fluorescent signatures minimizing spillover and spread.

552 nm / 663 nm / 561 nm (Yellow Laser)
Strain Note:
NovaFluor Yellow 660 shows non-specific staining of B cells in SJL mice; not observed in BALB/c or C57BL/6 mice.
Target Information
CD61 (GPIIIa, ITGB3) is a 105 kDa glycoprotein found on megakaryocytes, platelets, and their precursors. It functions as a receptor for fibrinogen, fibronectin, von Willebrand factor, and vitronectin. CD61 forms complexes with CD41 (alpha IIb) or CD51 (alpha V) and participates in cell adhesion and signaling.
Associated diseases include Glanzmann Thrombasthenia and Platelet-type 16 Bleeding Disorder.
