CYLD는 JNK 신호 경로에 영향을 미치는 종양 억제 단백질로, TRAF2 및 NF-κB 신호 경로의 음성 조절자로 알려져 있습니다. 또한 I-κB kinase 경로를 조절하며, Lys-48 비연결 폴리유비퀴틴 사슬에 대한 탈유비퀴틴화 활성을 가집니다. TRAP1은 CYLD의 새로운 탈유비퀴틴화 기질로 보고되었습니다.
CYLD 유전자 변이는 cylindromatosis, multiple familial trichoepithelioma 및 Brooke-Spiegler 증후군과 연관되어 있습니다.
