Target Information
Histone H3 is a DNA-binding protein found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Along with other core histones, it binds DNA to form nucleosomes, playing a key role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability.
The N-terminal tail of histone H3 can undergo various post-translational modifications—such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation—that influence chromatin structure and gene expression.
