Target Information
TNFRSF14 is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily and acts as a cellular mediator of herpes simplex virus (HSV) entry. Binding of HSV envelope glycoprotein D (gD) to TNFRSF14 facilitates viral entry. The cytoplasmic region interacts with TRAF family members, mediating signal transduction pathways that activate immune responses. Activation of TNFRSF14 in T cells promotes proliferation and cytokine production, contributing to inflammation and enhanced CTL-mediated tumor immunity. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been reported, though some full-length sequences remain undetermined.
