Target Information

Glutamate is considered the principal excitatory amino acid in the central nervous system (CNS). Its role in cellular metabolism is well known. Glutamate reactivity is particularly observed in the granular cells of the cerebellum, the pyramidal cells of the hippocampus, the Betz cells of the motor strip, and the projections of the frontal lobe to the basal ganglia.
