Target Information
Streptavidin is a tetrameric protein purified from Streptomyces avidinii that binds very tightly to the vitamin biotin with a Kd of approximately 10⁻¹⁴ mol/L.
Its high affinity for biotin and biotinylated molecules makes streptavidin one of the most important components in diagnostics and laboratory kits.
