The immunogen is RBL-2H3 cells transfected to express human C5aR on the cell surface.
Target Information
CD88 (C5aR1) is a C5a Anaphylatoxin Receptor involved in mediating chemotactic responses. It is expressed in various tissues including blood cells, brain, liver, lung, spleen, heart, kidney, and intestinal tract.
CD88 stimulates chemotaxis, granule enzyme release, and superoxide anion production. It is part of the classical complement pathway and may be involved in tissue injury associated with ischemia or sepsis.
Diseases associated with CD88 include Mannose-Binding Lectin Deficiency and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.
